How much compensation will you get for a delayed or canceled flight?

As per EC 261, the airlines must provide complimentary food and drinks when the flight is delayed. They should also offer accommodation and replacement flights. If your flight is delayed for three or more hours, you will be compensated approximately $700.

Your delayed compensation will also depend on the distance of flight and time of arrival at the destination

• All flights under 1,500 km distance will get $250 per person.
• Passengers traveling on Internal EU flights over 1,500 km distance will be paid  $400 per person.
• Passengers flying Non-internal EU flights between 1,500 - 3,500 km distance will receive $400 per person.
• For Non-internal EU flights, passengers over a 3,500 km distance will get up to $600 per person.
• You will be provided $308.09 for delays at arrival between 3 and 6 hours
• You will get $539.15 for delays at arrival between 6 and 9 hours; and 
•  You will be compensated with $770.22 for delays at the arrival of 9 hours.

• Visit the official website at www.aircanada.com.
• Locate the manage booking option and click on the refund and compensation form
• Now fill out your canceled flight booking number and last name in the given options of the compensation form.
• You have to click on submit.
• Now fill out your booking details, name, address, phone number, etc., after rechecking submit the form.
• You will get the confirmation mail at your email address, and you will receive a compensation id number for future use.
